Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury stated that the land service at the field level is being closely monitored by the dashboard.

He made this statement while speaking as the chief guest at a coordination meeting of Divisional Commissioners related to the Ministry of Land, held in the conference room of the Ministry of Land at the Secretariat on Sunday. Land Secretary Md. Khalilur Rahman chaired the meeting. Divisional Commissioners from across the country, along with senior officials of the Ministry of Land were present.

The Land Minister also expressed concern about the persistent complaints of citizen harassment and pledged to take stricter measures to ensure corruption-free land services in the national interest. Necessary actions will be taken by closely reviewing the progress from the Dashboard. Furthermore, the Land Minister urged the Divisional Commissioners to regularly monitor the dashboard of their respective Land Offices.

The Land Minister emphasized that if efficient, transparent, people-friendly, and accountable land services are not ensured, it will be impossible to establish Bangabandhu’s dream of Sonar Bangla.

Saifuzzaman Chowdhury stressed the importance of increasing awareness about Land Service nationwide and stated that, considering all levels of land service receivers, necessary measures must be taken to provide them with proper information.

In his speech, the land secretary informed the divisional commissioners that land officials have been trained in digital land services in 40 districts across the country. This type of training will also be conducted in the remaining districts. Additionally, he mentioned that, according to the Balumhal and Soil Management (Amendment) Act, the water development board or any other government agency can conduct hydrographic surveys in addition to BIWTA.

This year’s Divisional Commissioner’s meeting highlighted the importance of taking measures to prevent corruption and promote digital land services.
